When I saw this quote on a mug at a local newsagency, it changed me. It was one of those moments that punches you in the heart and opens your eyes to a new way of seeing things.
I spent the next 15 years defining and re-defining what my life and work could look like and then making it happen.
Changing the way you function doesn’t happen overnight. We inherit and create habits to help us get through when stressful things occur . When life gets complex or stressful, our brain literally switches off and we revert to old habits to get us through. That often leads to burnout.
I come from generations of entrepreneurs – all work and no play. I was taught that family and personal priorities came second to work. I struggled to find my own balance. I wanted to create balance between looking after myself and my family while retaining my business as a priority.
The NFP Planner is the system I created that worked with my brain to help transform me. It is a supportive process that is accountable and encouraging while still giving me a gentle nudge to get things done!
The planner shows you how well you are going and what you’ve accomplished. When you’re having one of those days, where adulting seems like the last thing you want to do, it helps to be reminded of how awesome you are. Reflecting on your achievements encourages you to keep going.
